- Evolving Systems Trials Number Portability Automation Product
Major US Wireless Operators Participate
ENGLEWOOD, Colorado - Evolving Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ-EVOL), a leading provider of software solutions and services to the wireless, wireline and IP carrier market, today announced the start of inter-operator trials of its ServiceLink™ porting automation product. Initial trial participants include major US wireless operators and selected wireline trading partners.
Evolving Systems' ServiceLink product is designed to improve the number portability process between wireless and wireline carriers, known as inter-modal porting. This process is currently handled using manual processes such as fax, which can be prone to errors, is inefficient and expensive to support. The ServiceLink product reduces errors and provides cost and time efficiencies by supporting pre-port communication and automating the porting between wireless carriers and their wireline trading partners.
SNET Diversified Group is a participant in the trial with Evolving Systems. Kelli Gracy, Associate Director with SNET DG, commented, "Evolving Systems' ServiceLink product will enhance our service bureau offering by providing significant improvements that greatly reduce the manual time our customers spend in the pre-port process. What now takes several fax communications is replaced by a click of the mouse, reducing errors and saving time and expense."
Stephen Gartside, president and CEO of Evolving Systems, commented, "Evolving Systems is constantly working on ways to help our customers simplify their processes and improve efficiency. With porting volumes expected to grow as a result of the proliferation of new services such as VoIP, and higher wireless adoption rates, ServiceLink represents an important step forward for carriers looking to implement best-in-class processes. We are delighted with the initial interest in this new product and look forward to completing this trial successfully."
