- Evolving Systems Releases Local Number Portability 7.1 Products
- Usability and performance improvements enable carriers to be more efficient in handling number portability processes
ENGLEWOOD, Colorado - Evolving Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ-EVOL), a leading provider of software solutions and services to the wireless, wireline and IP carrier market today announced the general availability of LNP 7.1, with new releases of the Company's flagship North American number portability products, NumberManager® and OrderPath®.
In order to support ever-increasing porting volumes, LNP 7.1 introduces significant performance improvements to the Company's NumberManager LSMS software. Included in these improvements are enhanced scalability and dramatic increases to provisioning throughput with the introduction of a new provisioning engine architecture.
Building upon its already proven capabilities, NumberManager 7.1 provides improved provisioning rates without requiring additional CPU capacity. It achieves this result through more efficient management of provisioning requests which, in turn, reduce the requirement for expensive database CPU licenses.
In addition to the existing HP-UX platform, customers can also choose to deploy Evolving Systems' NumberManager software on lower-cost Linux platforms in a distributed environment. The result is higher performance at lower costs.
Additionally, both NumberManager and Evolving Systems' LSOA application, OrderPath, introduce new usability improvements aimed at reducing the amount of time operators need to spend on particular processes. These enhancements include faster query processing and better information display within activity management portions of the application.
"With this release we now are shipping a Linux-version of our LSMS application. In addition, our new distributed instance feature allows customers to greatly reduce the number of CPUs needed to run the database software. The net effect is a much lower total cost of ownership while at the same time improving the overall performance of our LNP suite of products to keep pace with the increasing porting volumes we see in the North American market." said Thad Dupper, President and CEO of Evolving Systems.
